Forlagets egen omtale:

Together the four Barents countries have set aside a great diversity of protected areas. Many of them are highly interesting and easy to access – others are almost inaccessible. In this field guide more than 50 carefully selected areas are presented in detail. You will find information about protection status, geographical features, habitats, species, maps, access, regulations, accommodation and other facilities. You will also find more specific information about bird watching, whale watching, brown bear watching, nature conservation, public access and outdoor ethics.

The field guide contains almost 300 photos, 52 map sketches and 52 species presentations. More than 1.250 protected areas are listed in the appendix.

We hope that this field guide will be a useful tool for conservationists, backpackers, ecotourists and everybody interested in environmental management in the region. Be inspired to visit some of the areas, enjoy our beautiful nature, and support our common efforts to protect these areas for future generations.
